Our Services

Our office offers a gentle and conservative approach to modern dental care. Dentistry doesn’t have to be painful (or scary). As Dr. Rackauskas always used to say – “We cater to cowards” – and we still do! Dr. Heller takes time to tailor unique treatment plans for each of her patients – carefully considering how to make the treatment comfortable. Most patients can’t believe how pain free dentistry can be with a caring doctor who takes time to ensure a positive experience. Many patients comment “did you just numb me? I didn’t feel a thing!” or “that was the best dental visit I have ever had!”

If your tooth has a small or medium sized cavity, it will likely be a good candidate for an aesthetic “tooth-colored” composite resin filling. Composite fillings bond to your tooth so minimal natural tooth needs to be removed, and they contain no Mercury like silver fillings do.

Implants are an excellent solution to replace a single missing tooth (or several) because we don’t have to reduce the teeth on either side of the space. For more than one tooth, an implant-supported bridge is often the best treatment. Implants can even be used to support a denture, giving you the comfort and stability of natural teeth.

Implants are made of titanium, which is very friendly to the human body. The implant post is placed into the bone and is allowed to integrate and become very strong. After 3-6 months we can secure a natural-appearing and strong tooth to the implant, or attach them to your denture for strength. Implants need to be cared for regularly, and kept extremely clean. A well-cared-for implant will last a lifetime.

We are happy to offer implants in our comfortable office, negating the need for a trip to the oral surgeon.

Dental crowns are needed to restore teeth that have been damaged, chipped, or fractured beyond what a dental filling can repair. CEREC utilizes 3-D imaging to scan your natural tooth, so no messy impressions are needed. While you rest comfortably watching TV or reading a magazine, Dr. Heller personally designs and mills your custom crown. She will then fit and seat your crown at that same appointment so you leave with a beautiful and durable restoration that naturally completes your smile. To learn more about Single Visit Crowns CLICK HERE.

Do you ever wake up in the morning with sore teeth, aching facial muscles, or popping or pain in your jaw? Do you have regular headaches? If so, you might be clenching or grinding your teeth while you are sleeping. This is a common, often stress-related, problem called Bruxism. If you are clenching or grinding during your sleep, this can affect you in many negative ways.

If you clench or grind your teeth, you may not be getting the quality of sleep you need to feel rested. Additionally, your teeth are at very high risk of fracture and wear (non-reversible). To protect your teeth while you are sleeping, and to help you rest easier, a night guard may be right for you. Models of your teeth will be taken, and the guard will be custom-fabricated to fit over your teeth. Custom night guards will last years and years, and will work hard (while you rest) to protect your smile.

A bridge is a great restoration that helps us replace one or many missing teeth.  The bridge is fabricated at a local lab and is cemented to the surrounding teeth, and, if properly cared for, will last for decades. Depending on the health of the teeth surrounding the space, an implant may be a better option. Ask Dr. Heller which option is best for you.

If you are missing some or all of your natural teeth a denture or partial denture may be right for you. These removable devices beautifully replace your missing teeth restoring your bite and your smile.

If you have a dental infection or a large cavity that has spread to the nerve of the tooth, a root canal may save your smile and prevent you from having that tooth pulled.

Although permanent teeth were meant to last a lifetime, there are a number of reasons why a tooth extraction may be necessary. If we recommend that a tooth should be taken out due to extensive trauma or decay, we will be able to keep you comfortable here at our office throughout the process.

We use high-tech, low-radiation digital x-rays to take pictures of your teeth to check for tooth decay that cannot be seen with the naked eye. We also check the health of tooth roots and the bone that surrounds them, and screen for cysts, tumors and other abnormalities.

Topical fluoride is an excellent preventive treatment for most children and adults to strengthen their outer tooth structure, called enamel. For a person with a high risk of cavities, a topical fluoride treatment may especially be recommended. With this simple treatment, a highly-concentrated fluoride solution is painted onto the teeth. It clings there for about 12 hours and strengthens the surface of the tooth. A stronger coating of enamel will help prevent future cavities, and can also slow down cavity formation on teeth that may already be affected.

Even with the best possible oral care at home, it is important to visit your dentist for a regular professional teeth cleaning. This cleaning will remove any sticky plaque or hard, built-up tartar that can’t be cleaned by brushing and flossing alone. Additionally, any surface stains from food, dark beverages, and smoking can be removed from your teeth, brightening your smile instantly. Your dentist or hygienist will give you some tips and pointers on how to best keep a clean, healthy mouth.

Most cleanings involve the use of an ultrasonic scaler to easily remove the buildup from your teeth without all the scraping. This scaler also uses high-powered water flow to flush out your gum pockets, ridding them of harmful bacteria or sick gum tissue. Our cleaning will leave you with a fresh feeling that lasts.

Sealants are a simple procedure to prevent cavities from forming on the chewing surface of your teeth. Excellent for kids and adults alike, a sealant is a thin layer of tooth-colored resin that is flowed onto the chewing surface of the tooth, sealing off the deep grooves and hard to clean areas of your teeth. The procedure is quick, painless, and does not require numbing.

SureSmile® is a revolutionary system that inconspicuously straightens misaligned teeth. A series of clear, plastic trays are designed specifically for your smile and when worn in the proper sequence, they shift your teeth into the correct position. The aligners are comfortable to wear and removable for easy eating, brushing, and flossing. SureSmile® trays should regularly be worn; however, they are virtually unnoticeable to others. If you want to achieve a beautifully aligned smile without traditional metal braces, SureSmile® is a fantastic option.

Dental veneers are wafer-thin, custom-made shells of tooth-colored material designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve their appearance. These shells are bonded to the front of the teeth changing their color, shape, size, or length.

Bonding is among the easiest and least expensive cosmetic dental procedures. The composite resin used in bonding can be shaped and polished to match the surrounding teeth. Most often, bonding is used for cosmetic purposes to improve the appearance of a discolored or chipped tooth. It also can be used to close spaces between teeth, to make teeth look longer or to change the shape or color of teeth.

At about half the cost of veneers or crowns and in a single visit, we can give you back the confidence to smile by getting rid of the black triangles at the gumline between your teeth. Using the BioClear technique, we don’t have to remove any of your natural tooth structure in order to give you the youthful, healthy, strong and stain-resistant teeth that you were meant to have!

Children’s Services

We would love to see your child within six months of their first tooth eruption (or by their first birthday). Early preventive care and creating a positive dental experience is important to maintaining your child’s healthy smile for years to come. We love hearing that children of all ages are excited to visit our office! We very rarely hear a child’s cry in our office and if we do, it is almost always because he or she doesn’t want to leave our adorable playroom.

A children’s exam is very similar to an adult exam. We look to make sure that the teeth are healthy and erupting properly. Depending on the age of your child we may take some x-ray pictures of his or her teeth to screen for proper development and detection of any cavities. Cleaning and polishing remove any buildup or stain from your child’s teeth and leave them sparkling.

A great way to prevent cavities, a sealant is a thin layer of tooth colored filling material that is placed over the nooks and crannies on the chewing surfaces of back teeth. The procedure is quick, easy, and affordable, giving the tooth an extra boost of protection from those cavity-causing “sugar bugs.”
